How to control your Mac from iPad with Nubo

From installation to your first session: permissions, pairing, and settings for a responsive connection.

Prepare your Mac and iPad

Download the Mac companion from nubo.lvrpiz.com and move Nubo into Applications before opening it. Install the iPad app from the App Store. You need macOS 15 or later and iPadOS 18 or later.

For your first test, connect both devices to the same network and keep the Mac awake. Guest networks may prevent devices from discovering each other.

Grant permissions and pair

Follow the Mac assistant to allow screen capture and Accessibility control. Allow local network access when macOS requests it. If the system asks you to restart the app, quit and reopen Nubo.

Select the Mac on iPad and complete pairing. Check that the request belongs to your device. Subsequent connections use the saved identity; you should not need to pair for every session.

Adjust quality after connecting

Start with automatic quality. First check cursor movement, typing, and scrolling. Then test video and audio. If playback stutters, lower quality before increasing resolution.

Latency includes capture, encoding, networking, decoding, and presentation. Nubo does not guarantee a universal millisecond figure or sustained 60 FPS on every network. For text work, choose a balance between sharpness and responsiveness that suits your iPad.
